The one most people go for
An apex roof peaks along the middle, so you get full standing height down the centre and water runs off both sides instead of piling onto one edge. It is the shape to pick when the shed is out in the garden with space around it. It also just looks like a shed should look, which matters to more people than will admit it.
Gable door or side door?
A gable door sits in the end wall under the point, so you walk in facing the ridge with the full height in front of you. A side door goes in the long wall, which suits a shed running along a fence where you come at it from the side. Both cost the same here and you pick on the product page, so there is no hunting about for a different listing.
Height at the eaves
Standard is 6ft at the eaves and about 7ft 2in at the ridge. The tall option takes the eaves to 6ft 7in and the ridge to roughly 7ft 9in. That is the difference between ducking at the walls and standing up to reach a shelf, and it is free on the tongue and groove range.
Roof and canopy
Heavyweight mineral felt as standard, EPDM rubber on the workshop build. A 1ft or 2ft canopy over the door costs nothing and keeps the rain off you while you are fiddling with the padlock. Well worth having if you are in and out of it daily.
Cladding
Full tongue and groove all the way through, never overlap. Dip treated if it is going to sit there most of the year, pressure treated for anything else.
