Sizes are nominal, same as they are everywhere in this trade. If you are squeezing it into a tight gap, work off the external figures rather than the name.
What actually fits
Six bikes, or a ride on turned sideways, or an 8ft bench with racking above it and a clear walkway behind you. Going from 8×6 to 10×8 roughly doubles the floor you can actually use once a bench is in, which is why it is the workshop size we fit most.
At this size the build matters more than the footprint. The 60x40mm framed workshop build with 7ft eaves and an 18mm floor is what stops shelves pulling off the walls and machines bouncing about.
Apex or pent at this size?
If the shed is sat out in the garden, apex gives you standing height down the middle. If it is going against the house or under a fence line, pent is the one, because the low edge clears a 6ft fence where an apex ridge will not.
Delivery and fitting
Free across L1 to L40, CH41 to CH66, WA8 to WA13 and PR8 to PR9, on a day you pick. Two of our lads, base checked and levelled, old shed taken away and the packaging gone with us.
