If you’re not sure which shed to go for, this is the one most of our customers end up with. The apex roof comes to a point in the middle, so you can stand up straight inside and rain runs off both sides rather than sitting on top. It’s a good, honest storage shed that we build in loads of sizes, from a little 4×4 for the bins and the mower right up to a 20×10 that’s more like a small workshop.
Dip treated or pressure treated?
The dip treated version has full 12mm tongue and groove cladding in a warm red cedar colour. It’s the lower price and it’s spot on for a sheltered garden where the shed mainly holds tools and garden furniture. It needs a coat of treatment every year or so to keep it looking right, and the timber has a 12 month guarantee against rot.
The pressure treated (tanalised) version uses thicker 15mm tongue and groove cladding and tanalised framing, where the preservative is forced right into the timber rather than sitting on the surface. It comes with our 10 year guarantee against rot, it’s a natural timber colour that goes silver over time, and it’s the one we’d point you to if you’ll be in and out of the shed every week or your garden takes a battering from the weather.

Make it yours
You can put the door on the front or either end, depending on the size, and add double doors if you need to get a ride on mower or wheelbarrow in. There’s also a heavy duty 60×40mm frame upgrade, which we’d always recommend if you’re going to hang shelves or tools on the walls, plus a choice of locks and a base if your ground needs it.
Days to installation
Built to order, then we ring you to agree an installation day. Our own installers bring everything and take the packaging away.
Dip or pressure treated?
Dip treated suits a sheltered garden where the shed stores the mower and bins.
Pressure treated suits a shed you'll open most weeks, and it's the build that carries the 10-year rot guarantee.
Planning permission
Usually not needed if the shed is in the back garden, single storey and no more than 2.5m to the eaves.

About this shed
Which is better, dip treated or pressure treated?
It depends how you'll use it. Dip treated is cheaper and fine for a sheltered spot where the shed just holds tools. Pressure treated is thicker, lasts longer and comes with our 10 year guarantee against rot, so it's the one we'd go for if you're in it most weeks or your garden is exposed.
What's the difference between standard and extra tall?
Standard is 6ft at the ridge and 5ft at the eaves. Extra tall is 7ft at the ridge and 6ft at the eaves, so you can stand up near the walls as well as in the middle. If you're over about 5ft 10 or want a workbench in there, we'd go extra tall.
Why can't I get every size in dip treated?
Dip treated goes up to 10×8. Anything bigger is only made in pressure treated, because a large shed needs the stronger tanalised timber to last. The size list on this page only shows what we actually make in the timber you've picked.
Can I choose where the door goes?
Yes, at no extra cost. The positions available depend on the size, smaller sheds have the door on one of the ends and bigger ones can have it on the front too. Tap the plan drawing above to see what's available for your size.
Do I need planning permission?
Usually not. Most sheds count as permitted development if they're in the back garden, single storey and under 2.5m to the eaves, and every size of this shed is well under that. If you're in a listed building or conservation area, check with your council first.
What base does it need?
It needs to go on a solid, level surface like flags, a concrete base or a timber frame. If your ground isn't level, add our combi base and our installers will sort it on the day. Bearers are a good shout on a solid base to lift the floor off the ground.
How do I look after it?
Give the dip treated version a coat of shed treatment every year or so. The pressure treated one only needs a quality water repellent within the first couple of years. Keep plants and soil away from the bottom so the air can get round it, and oil the hinges now and then.
Will you take my old shed away?
Yes, just pick the size of your old shed in the old shed removal option and we'll take it down and take it away when we install the new one.
